When we first moved to Kentucky, the weather caught us off guard (read about it here, here, and here). While snow and ice don’t make a habit of lingering around Kentucky like they do in Michigan or Minnesota, it does snow here. When it does, the roads are unpleasant. So one of the first things we purchased when we moved here was a 4×4 Chevrolet Tahoe for my wife to get around in. That was 5 1/2 years ago.

Today her truck hit a milestone.

Pretty cool. The last time this happened for one of my vehicles, it was here.

Our poor, deer struck truck is about to have the same milestone. I want it to run forever!

When you take care of it, it’ll run a long time. My ’98 Tahoe just hit 150,000 miles. Now that we left the Southern California freeways and live on an island, we average only about 5500 miles per year.

I see that you were driving while you took the first picture. At least you had the good sense to pull over and park when you took the second picture

Cindy…..because your truck is a diesel I say fix your truck and keep it going. THAT is one vehicle I would want to be in if I hit a deer.

Dad…..yep! And since you taught me to be very conservative and change oil every 2000 miles my vehicles will always make it well past 100,000. With the diesels, even more.

James…..Maria’s truck was in (D)rive when I took the picture but look at the speedo. It states 0 because I was in the garage and had my foot on the brake.

[…] I posted earlier this week about my wife’s truck hitting 100,000 miles. Well, this afternoon on my commute home I doubled that on my daily driver. See my cellphone picture below. […]
